After learning so much about Florence, actually being there felt surreal. My highlights: Eating endless amounts of gelato, climbing up the bell tower, exploring the suburban areas of the city, and celebrating another beautiful sunset with other tourists at the Piazzale Michelangelo.
Earlier this week, I stayed at Meliã's ME hotel in Miami and I have to say, it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. I have lots to share so let's start with one of my favourite parts, their lounge.
Their lounge, equipped with a bar, is located by their check-in/reception area on their 3rd floor. It's the perfect place to meet for drinks, relax, or even get some work done. I especially loved the design with how well all the different seating arrangement worked and of course, the marble tables with gold details.
The hotel, less than a year old, is located in Downtown Miami, right beside the American Airline's Arena and right by the water. It really is the best of both worlds: a city view, and a oceanside view looking onto the skyline of South Beach. And what makes it even better is their large balcony to help you enjoy the view and soak in some sun.
I stayed in the Mode room, a 500 square-foot room for 2 with a King bed, a desk area, a large flat-screen TV, and more.
The first thing I ever do when I arrive in a new city in a hotel is unpack. As a very visual and organized person, I like to see everything arranged and put away in front of me, even if I only stay for one night.
I've never stayed in a hotel with a large closet space. Most hotels aren't too considerate of that aspect but I loved that ME Miami has walk-in closets equipped with a safe, an ironing board, plenty of hangers, slippers, and robes.
Say hello to the deepest and gorgeous free-standing bath tub which sits right beside a large glass shower. Across is a room with a toilet. The thing I immediately noticed walking in to the washroom was how the music from our bedroom area plays through seamlessly. That's some special tech!
The next morning we were served a delicious breakfast located on the first floor of the hotel located in a restaurant called STK: toast, granola with yogurt, a croissant, a pastry, along with jam and berries. Now that's my kind of breakfast!
I think one of the coolest parts of this hotel that I was most excited to see was the pool area. ME Miami has two pools on the 14th floor: a lap pool, and an infinity pool. It's safe to say I was instantly obsessed with the infinity pool looking across the city; so incredible!
Also on the 14th floor is their patio area to lounge by between your swims and a fitness centre.
And finally, the staff. The staff were so kind and helpful in greeting my stay, checking me into my room, and sharing details about ME Miami. Everyone was very welcoming.
Thank you to the ME Miami team for the incredible experience and Elizabeth for helping in organizing the accommodation. I can't wait to discover more from Meliã's ME hotel line around the world!
