If you know me, you know I’m not the best cook. When HelloFresh approached me to deliver a box to try out, I was up for the challenge. Turns out, it wasn’t a challenge at all. Every meal exceeded my expectations and tasted incredible.
I cooked three of HelloFresh’s dishes this week with each dish featuring a different protein. The insulated box came early Monday morning with ice packs to keep the meats fresh and all ingredients packaged according to their designated dish. This made it easy to store and keep ingredients organized. The box also came with instructions and recipe cards.
Here’s how the meals turned out.
Creamy Tarragon Chicken

First meal of the week was this creamy tarragon chicken with roasted red potatoes and green beans. I followed the six step instruction card and 30 minutes later was finished preparing the most delicious meal.
Sticky Miso Pork

Next up was the Sticky Miso Pork. I’ve never cooked with pork or miso before so I was a bit hesitant at first. But, after the simplicity of the process and the incredible taste, this may have been my favourite dish of the three.

The final meal of the week was a Retro Burger with salad. This meal had me at caramelized onions. My least favourite part about prepping onions is cutting them so I was really happy to avoid the process. It’s a small detail but makes a huge difference and saves you preparation time. I had my dad try this out too since he loves beef and he was a huge fan, even of the salad with the dressing.
All three meals were easy to prepare with the ingredients coming fresh to the doorstep and staying fresh in the fridge. It’s also nice knowing that you don’t have to think about what to cook for lunch or dinner for some meals of the week.
