During my quick trip to New York City this past weekend I stayed at the Dazzler Brooklyn Hotel and thought I'd give a full review on the hotel and it's features.

Located in Brooklyn Heights, the Dazzler Hotel just opened on the first of August under the hotel franchising and management company Fen Hoteles. Since it is a new hotel, not all their features and amenities, like their beer garden, were completely finished. However many, such as their breakfast area are completed which is featured below. Let's start with the room.

The Dazzler Hotel has 174 rooms which come in 3 sizes: The Classic, two double beds or a king bed, the Junior Suite and the Executive Suite.

The room we were offered was the classic room with a king sized bed. The first thing I noticed were the modern doors and hallways as we walked towards our room. A bright, grey, white and black theme with gold accents filled the hallway.

Usually when I stay in hotels, you slide your key in and the door opens, but this time, you just tap your card key and that activates the door. Janine meets the future of hotel room key technology!

The hotel room was spacious enough for two people to stay in. A large wide-screen TV was mounted on the wall across from the bed and above the desk. Beside the large window there is a seating area with an amazing view of the city and across is a mini bar with a secret fridge department. There was also a small closet and an electronic safe.

After long days in Manhattan, nothing felt better than snuggling in the most cozy and comfortable bed ever. It was hard to get out in the mornings because they were just that comfortable.

This entire bathroom situation was #whitemarblegoals. So in love!

The bathroom was clean and modern, with towels available as well as cute soaps, lotions, and shampoos. I liked how the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were in large bottles mounted on the wall. So much more convenient than those mini sample tubes hotels usually give you.

The Lobby

The hotel's lobby was simple and effortless but made an impact at first glance. Velvet couches and seats, gold accents, and exposed concrete gave the lobby an urban chic vibe. I was in love with every aspect of it.

I liked how there were plenty of spots to sit and mingle, or enjoy some coffee. And the seats sure were comfy!

At the Dazzler Brooklyn Hotel, you receive complementary breakfast as well as free wifi. This can be a big money-saver for travellers since you can easily spend an extra $10-$30 per day on both. So a big plus to that!

Breakfast was served in a dining area located beside the lobby. They offered muffins, croissants, breads, cheese platters, veggies, salami, as well as juices and coffee.

The hotel also has a rooftop garden located on the 6th floor with a view of the Manhattan Bridge. Soon to be available is parking, a fitness centre, a restaurant, and a beer garden.

Staff & Service

The staff and service at the Dazzler was the best I've ever encountered. The receptionists were friendly and helped us out with every question we had. During our last night there, we had to check in to our flights and print our boarding passes. The staff showed us two available computers to use for their guests where we were able to check in and print our passes. As we left the hotel, one of the staff hailed us a taxi to go to the airport. The little things make the biggest differences.

Location

The area of the hotel was near the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges in a safe and clean area of Downtown Brooklyn. The subway station is only about a 7 minute walk from the hotel and a short ride to go to Manhattan. To SoHo, it took us about 10-15 minutes from the moment we left our hotel to the moment we got off the subway. If you prefer taking a taxi, it will cost you about $10-$15 (not during rush hours) to get to the city.

In terms of distance from the airport, we flew in from LaGuardia Airport and took a cab to the hotel. It costed around $50 and took about 40 minutes because of the horrible morning traffic we were stuck in. Going from the hotel to LaGuardia airport however took about 15 minutes and costed half the price.

TO SUMMARIZE

  • Hotel and rooms were clean, modern and well taken care of.
  • Free wifi.
  • Complementary breakfast.
  • Great for families, couples and those traveling alone.
  • Incredible staff and services.
  • Located near the subway and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.

Would I come back? YES! I definitely would!
