Sitting on the balcony of a friend's beach side aboad in southern Florida as we wait for the fireworks to erupt from the bridge on the ocean.
This is my *delayed* fourth of July post! It was my first time celebrating fourth of July (i'm Canadian) and I didn't even know that there were actually events going on at certain beaches with major fireworks etc. until the day before. Here's how the day went.
For morning and lunch, we stayed in, went to swim by the pool, and took some photos. Around 3, we made our way to the beach where the entire parking space was closed down and replaced with tons of food vendors, a concert stage, and games! I wish it would be like that everyday. I tried some buttered corn on the cob and a virgin Pina Colada in a Pineapple!
After some time chilling out by the ocean, we went to the beachside aboad for some drinks, dinner and desserts pre-fireworks. Right when the clock struck 9pm, the fireworks began and I've never seen anything quick like this before! I thought Canada went big with it's birthday on July 1st but America does it bigger. So many fireworks for at least a good 30 minutes! The best was the fireworks that look like a waterfall down the side of the dock. Pretty awesome.
Next year, I hope to be back somewhere in the states with my friends!
