Never have I ever thought to go cafe hunting in Toronto. Usually when I head down to the city, it is for a festival, to go shopping or just stroll around. This time, I decided to find a cafe and spend an afternoon there.
Dineen Coffee Co. sits on Yonge street between Richmond Street W and Adelaide Street W. The location is just a few minute walk from Dundas Square making it the perfect location for everyone in the area to have access to. As soon as I walked in, my jaw dropped and I instantly fell in love with the environment. The floor to ceiling windows wrapping around the building allows for a bright and energized place. Minor details like the single brick wall, custom marble counters and even precise detailing on the floor brings everything together while also giving the space a unique touch. I especially loved this one area of the coffee shop which contained floor to ceiling shelves and filled with bags of their coffee and other goods. Their accent yellow coffee machine also gave a lovely look to the shop as well as the vibrant red couch running across the side of windows. They also have a nice patio sitting area to enjoy a drink during the warmer months.
I decided to order a cappuccino. Let me say, I am not much of a coffee drinker but this was my turning point. It is not too strong and has such a rich taste. I also very much enjoyed the design on the cappuccino. Priced at around 3.50 to 4.00, this cappuccino was well worth it. In addition, their baked goods include muffins, tarts and croissants which are custom-made by an undisclosed local bakery.
Overall, I am in love with the space itself as it so smoothly combines the classic coffee shop look with today's modernized lifestyle. Dineen Coffee Co. has won my heart and I will definitely be heading there more often.
